Let's Wonder
Who of us does not wonder?
Who amongst us does not fear?
Who does not think what’s under
The life of your friend’s tear
Wonder drives the bold
For excitement waits behind
Wonder stops us cold
It lets fear into our mind
Wonder brings us knowledge
When taken to the heart
But if often left unchecked
Leaves us in the dark
And the world spins still
Though we can ignore
But wonder adds yet meaning
To continue furthermore
So let your mind go
Free it to pursue
And explore what it can’t see
What sits unfound inside you.

Summons
I didn't write this, but I sometimes wish I had. One of my favorites.
Keep me from going to sleep too soon
Or if I go to sleep too soon
Come wake me up. Come any hour
Of night. Come whistling up the road.
Stomp on the porch. Bang on the door.
Make me get out of bed and come
And let you in and light a light.
Tell me the northern lights are on
And make me look. Or tell me clouds
Are doing something to the moon
They never did before, and show me.
See that I see. Talk to me till
I'm half as wide awake as you
And start to dress wondering why
I ever went to bed at all.
Tell me the walking is superb.
Not only tell me but persuade me.

A moment, a life, a word, a story
The final strides of an ending journey
Yesterday’s tomorrow is today’s remembered
Memories of years burned to a single ember
A bright new path lies just ahead
But looking back leaves much unsaid
Of the times close together and never apart
Working toward the dreams of our limitless hearts
I sit here now, looking down at my world
My life as a necklace waits to be pearled

Thoughts are what guide our minds
Thoughts are what mold our world
A world as far or as close as we perceive
Resting only on what we believe
Tonight my thoughts have taken flight
To explore the world in a different light
Over the coast of the golden sands
Into the vast pacific lands
Over Everest's snow capped peak
Through the ruins of the Greeks
Northern lights from Norway's fjord
Light brightly the African shore
Showing the path to the Brazilian coast
A sea apart but yet so close
The Caribbean waters shine in light
Of the glorious bright Parisian night
Take me through the fall mountain leaves
And into the colors of the barrier reef
For in my world of memories, my world of plans
Only one certain fact can stand
No matter the distance, no matter the route
My thoughts will lead me straight to you
